BT Notifier Privacy Policy

BT Notifier is an Android utility that scans for nearby Bluetooth devices, maintains a watch list, and can show a local notification when a watched device appears.

Information the app processes

BT Notifier may process the following information on your device:

• Nearby Bluetooth device names, hardware addresses, signal strength, device type, and detection times.
• Device aliases, watch-list entries, hidden-device choices, scan settings, and notification preferences that you create in the app.
• The selected Wi-Fi network name and names of nearby Wi-Fi networks if you enable the optional setting that limits background scans to a selected network.

Collection and sharing

BT Notifier does not send this information to the developer or to third parties. The app does not include an account system, advertising, analytics, crash reporting, or an internet permission. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi information is processed locally to provide the features you request.

Storage and retention

Watch-list entries, device aliases, hidden-device choices, the selected Wi-Fi network name, and app settings are stored in the app's private storage on your device. You can remove individual entries in the app. Android removes the app's local data when you clear its storage or uninstall it. Depending on your Android backup settings, the operating system may include app data in a device backup controlled by your Google account or device provider.

Permissions

BT Notifier requests only permissions used by its features:

• Nearby devices and Bluetooth: scan for and identify nearby Bluetooth devices.
• Location: support Bluetooth discovery on older Android versions and read Wi-Fi network names for the optional Wi-Fi scan limit. BT Notifier does not collect or transmit precise location coordinates.
• Nearby Wi-Fi devices: list Wi-Fi network names when you configure the optional Wi-Fi scan limit.
• Notifications: show the background-scanning status and alerts for watched devices.
• Foreground service and startup: run user-enabled background scans with a visible status notification and restore that setting after the device restarts.

You can deny optional permissions or disable background scanning in the app's settings. Some features will be unavailable without the permissions they require.

Children's privacy

BT Notifier is a general utility for adults and is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

Changes to this policy

If BT Notifier's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the changed behavior is released.
